Job Overview:

As a Plant & Client Care Specialist, you will maintain our clients’ container plantings. Our maintenance services are key to ensuring that clients’ designs look great year-round. You’ll run a recurring route of client visits each week, perform plant care, and help ensure client satisfaction. This role is ideal for someone who loves plants, enjoys being active, and excels in customer service.

Hours & Schedule:

This is a part-time role, roughly 15–20 hours per week to start, worked across 2–3 weekday route days (daytime hours). Here’s how we build your schedule: in your application, tell us which days and hours you’re generally available Monday through Friday. We’ll work with you to pick 2–3 recurring days that fit your life, and build your client route around them. Once set, your days stay consistent week to week — our clients count on seeing us on the same day, and you can count on a predictable schedule. As our maintenance client list grows, so can your hours.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage a recurring schedule of weekly client visits to maintain indoor and outdoor container plants for both residential and commercial properties.
  • Drive between client properties, ensuring an efficient and consistent route each day.
  • Access client properties and care for all plants under our care — includes watering, pruning, feeding, dusting, and pest control.
  • Monitor plants for signs of stress, damage, or environmental issues, and report findings to team leads.
  • Troubleshoot and address minor plant care issues as they arise, ensuring optimal health and appearance of client container plants.
  • Keep client areas clean and tidy, ensuring no mess is left behind.
  • Communicate service notes to team leads daily.
  • Escalate any complex plant or client issues to team leads.
  • Assist with new installations, refreshes, or other service visits, when needed.
  • Help gather materials and supplies, such as plants or soil, when needed.

Potential Growth & Seasonal Opportunities:

  • During our busiest seasons (March–June and October–mid-December), you may have opportunities for additional hours, including hands-on involvement in new plant design installations.
  • Our maintenance business is growing steadily, and there is a real path for this role to grow into a full-time position for the right candidate.

Job Qualifications:

  • Customer-Focused: Personable and professional, with experience in customer-facing roles. Respect for clients and their spaces is essential; experience with high-end clients is a plus.
  • Plant Knowledge: Basic plant care knowledge (watering, pruning, etc.) is required. Hands-on experience with container plants is great, but a willingness to learn is essential.
  • Dependable & Organized: Reliable self-starters who can work independently and follow a consistent service schedule.
  • Attention to Detail: Commitment to high-quality service is vital. Team members must regularly check the health and appearance of container plants.
  • Problem Solver: Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking are necessary. Team members should troubleshoot simple plant or client issues and manage daily challenges effectively, even under pressure.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs, as the job may involve moving bags of soil, large plants, and planters.
  • Valid Driver’s License: Access to a reliable vehicle for work-related travel is required; mileage reimbursement is provided.

We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds, whether your experience is in horticulture, landscaping, retail garden centers, hospitality, or another hands-on field. If you’re passionate about delivering great plant care and client service, we want to hear from you!
